In public speaking, whether a large group or a meeting with a publisher, the goal is to be prepared. Training at seminars and conferences is a very helpful way to prepare and refine your arrow so that you can hit your target.
Prepare and practice before competition so you can do your best but pray before, during and after competition because living in dependence on God is the best preparation.
I have competed when I was well prepared and when I was not so well prepared. I can tell you it is important to be prepared if you want to be successful.
In Christian speaking, our role is to do our best but the spiritual component is the most important. If our spiritual
tank is empty, our Christian presentation will show it.
Prepare your business cards, brochures, flyers, information packets and booking/contract paperwork. Having a professional appearance in your speaker information is important.
Be ready to hand out your business cards, network for contacts and follow up when you get home to increase your platform membership. Like them on social media and they may like you back. Give out information packets to prospects and be prepared to book events and handle contracts.
Know your schedule and be aware of open dates so you can speak to it if asked about a date to speak at an event.
